Finance for decisions, not just for reporting

The numbers should lead to a decision

Accounting shows what has already happened. We help you understand why it happened, what is going on with profit and cash — and what decisions to take next.

TotalThe numbers lead to a decision

Three levels

Accounting records. Analysis explains. Management directs

This makes the difference between a statutory accounting duty and a real finance function clear at once.

01

Accounting

What happened?

Transactions, taxes, payroll, tax returns, the balance sheet and statutory reporting.

02

Financial analysis

Why did it happen?

Profitability, margins, cost structure, debt and cash flows.

03

Financial management

What to do next?

Forecasts, scenarios, management indicators and support for the owner’s decisions.

This is not “more expensive accounting”. It is a different level of working with financial information.

When it is needed

Turnover and the bank balance no longer explain anything

A finance function becomes necessary when the business can no longer be judged by a single number.

  1. 01

    Several business lines or companies

    It is unclear where profit is made and how intra-group flows are connected.

  2. 02

    There is profit, but no free cash

    Cash flows, liabilities, loans and cash-flow gaps need to be analysed.

  3. 03

    Costs grow faster than revenue

    Management cannot see which items and units change the result.

  4. 04

    Decisions are made intuitively

    There is no budget, no liquidity forecast and no regular set of management indicators.

  5. 05

    A bank, an investor or a sale of the business lies ahead

    Financial information must be logical, verifiable and clear to an outside party.

What we do

We turn accounting data into a financial system

We do not build yet another pretty spreadsheet. We build information the owner can actually use.

Diagnostics

We check the real financial picture

The balance sheet, material balances, income and expenses, receivables and payables, loans, cash, taxes, fixed assets, stock and the quality of the existing analytics.

For a group of companies we look at the data not only for each legal entity separately, but also at how the companies relate to each other.

Profitability

We show where the result is made

What revenue is made of, which lines generate income, which costs relate directly to them, what the margin is, how much staff cost and where the profit of one line covers the losses of another.

Cash flows

We look ahead, not just at today’s balance

Receipts and payments, taxes, payroll, liabilities, seasonality, investment spending and the minimum necessary reserve. Management sees not only today’s bank balance but also the future need for cash.

Management accounting

We structure the data around management’s tasks

The chart of accounts, revenue and cost centres, business lines, rules for allocating overheads, accounting for loans and related parties, the month-end close and a regular management pack.

Result for the owner

Not a report for its own sake

A regular financial picture that answers the questions before the problem becomes urgent.

  • How much the company really earned
  • Where the business loses money
  • How much cash will be needed going forward
  • What has deviated from the plan
  • Which lines produced the result
  • How the cost structure is changing
  • Who owes the company and whom the company owes
  • What decision management needs to take

If the system needs rebuilding

Collect. Clean. Structure. Launch

Set-up does not count as a result until the system has run a full working cycle and produced information fit for management.

  1. 01

    Collect

    Diagnostics, data sources and the real financial picture.

  2. 02

    Clean

    Corrections, clean-up of balances and removal of distortions.

  3. 03

    Structure

    The financial model, analytics, rules and responsibilities.

  4. 04

    Launch

    Implementation, period close and the first management pack.

Expert work

Finance as a management system, not an add-on to accounting

Anna Šendik · Managing director, Kidnes OÜ

I work at the intersection of accounting, tax, financial analysis and business management. For me, the question after “is the transaction recorded correctly?” is “what does this number mean for the business?”

My background is in economics and financial management, with a master’s degree from Tallinn University of Technology. I step in when standard accounting services are no longer enough:

  • a complex structure or several companies;
  • significant cash flows and international operations;
  • restoring and rebuilding the books;
  • a need for management analytics;
  • preparing financial information for a bank or an investor;
  • building a finance function inside a growing business.

How the work starts

First the starting point. Then the format and the price

After an initial review we will propose a suitable working format, the stages, an indicative timeline and the price. Submitting the form does not constitute an order.
